Our Sacramento office has an opportunity for a Litigation Paralegal to join the firm?s expanding practice. The Litigation Paralegal researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys. Independently researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney. May manage work assignments for multiple paralegals and/or is a key client contact.

• Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation, with little or no supervision
• Files compilation
• Files pleadings with court clerk
• Prepares clerk
• Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints
• Drafts complaints
• Drafts a wide variety of legal documents
• Prepares documents
• Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file
• Prepares file
• Prepares for mediations and trials
• Assists trials
• Assists Attorneys at trial
• Assists trial
• Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions
• Communicates depositions
• Communicates with witnesses and experts
• Scheduling
• Enters experts
• Scheduling
• Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner
• Coordinates major projects or cases, some of which may involve the work of multiple paralegals

• Paralegal
• Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university
• 12+ university preferred
• 5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
• Proficient or combination of paralegal and legal secretary experience
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Outlook, Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems

In accordance with California?s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $76,000 and $85,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
