Responsibilities and practice

The Des Moines, Iowa office of Dentons Davis Brown is seeking an Associate with excellent academic credentials to join our growing Litigation practice. The person hired for this position will:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, motions practice, trial preparation, and trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance to clients
• Handle real estate, zoning, and land use disputes, including matters related to renewable energy projects
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver high-quality service
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

Position requirements

Personal skills/attributes

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• 3?6 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation
• Experience or strong interest in real estate, zoning, and renewable energy matters

Technical skills

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• A collaborative approach and a commitment to excellent client service

Other requirements

• Should be licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa/Commonwealth of Iowa and be in good standing
