Job Description
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant labor and employment law litigation experience. This position requires knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state and city laws), relevant contract and tort claims, as well as federal and New York state court procedure.
The ideal candidate should have experience, but is not required, handling all aspects of litigation, such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, managing discovery, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting and defending (or preparing for conducting and defending) depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending mediations, arbitrations and court appearances.
Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Admission to practice law in New York is mandatory.
The expected salary range for this position is $260,000 - $275,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
