Our properties

NeueHouse currently operates across three different, but equally iconic properties in New York City and Los Angeles:

• Our Madison Square (MSQ ) House is situated in New York's iconic Flatiron District, was previously home for Tepper Galleries, a well-known Manhattan auction house for international artists and collectors in the 1930s and neighbors the 69th Regiment Armory where the first International Exhibition of Modern Art was held.
• Our Hollywood House (HWD) , which sits on Sunset Boulevard, is one of LA's most celebrated buildings and occupies the original CBS Studio (the world's first structure built intentionally for broadcast). Here genre- defining artists from Orson Wells and Lucille Ball to Janis Joplin, the Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan built their legacy.
• Our Venice Beach House (VB) was once the creative home to some of the most influential creative luminaries in art and entertainment including Hal Ashby, Oliver Stone, and David Hockney, NeueHouse Venice Beach is a new work, social, and cultural hub for the Venice creative community.

The Role

We are seeking ahighly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Event Cookto oversee and execute high-end catering events with precision and professionalism. This role requires experience inelevated hospitality and fine dining catering, with a strong understanding ofallergies, dietary restrictions, and impeccable food presentation.

As theLead Event Cook, you will take ownership ofBanquet Event Orders (BEOs), manage production lists, and assist chefs in both a la carte and in-house catering operations. You will be proactive in ensuring flawless execution, maintaining high culinary standards, and mentoring event cooks.

Requirements

• Lead the execution of high-end catering events, ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
• Reviewbanquet event orders (BEOs)daily, making note of any updates or changes.
• Manage and controlproduction lists, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in preparation.
• Communicate effectively with theExecutive Chef, Sous Chef, and Banquet Captainto coordinate event production and plating.
• Maintain a strongeye for detail, ensuring food presentation aligns with luxury hospitality standards.
• Ensureallergy and dietary restriction accommodationsare properly executed.
• Support and assist chefs witha la carte and in-house catering operations.
• Establishdaily priorities, balancing production and preparation tasks among the team.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure all workstations are fully stocked, clean, and organized.
• Monitor and mentor event cooks, ensuring proper execution and adherence to kitchen standards.
• Ensure compliance withhealth, safety, and sanitation protocols.

• Proven experience in high-end catering or luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership skillswith the ability to manage production and mentor team members.
• Expertise in food preparation, plating, and dietary accommodations.
• Ability to work efficiently in afast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong understanding ofkitchen safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Ability to lift up to50 lbsand stand for long periods.
• Availability fornights, weekends, and some holidaysas required for event execution.

The anticipated salary for this position is $27 - $30 per hour.
