Job Description
Carlton Fields is seeking an associate with three to four years of litigation experience in a law firm environment who has a particular interest in employment law. A prior understanding of employment-related issues and a working knowledge of the FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and Title VII is desired but not required. Tasks include advising clients on compliance with wage and hour and other work regulations; handling administrative actions; and assisting in employment litigation and arbitrations, including drafting pleadings and motions, preparing and responding to discovery, and handling trials and arbitrations. Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated writing skills are required. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Florida (but the firm is willing to consider strong candidates seeking to relocate to Florida), have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, while being able to work individually, on client matters in an environment where drive and client service are valued.
