Internal Communications Intern

Prince Industries is seeking a motivated student majoring in Communications, Marketing or a related field to join the team this summer to help implement and streamline internal communications across all six Prince locations located in the U.S. The Internal Communications Intern will play a vital role in our corporate communication efforts, contributing to the development and dissemination of key announcements and messages within the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the communication landscape of our organization, ensuring that all employees feel connected and informed.

This internship is available to local candidates and requires regular onsite attendance at Prince's facility located in Carl Stream, IL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the creation and distribution of announcements related to the organization, business updates, personnel changes, and other relevant topics.

• Support the development and maintenance of a unified communication system that includes corporate alignment and social media integration.
• Help populate corporate communication channels, including TVs, apps, and texting apps, to ensure messages reach all employees, including those without email access.
• Contribute to making the communication system simple and sustainable, ensuring it remains easy to manage after the internship period.
• Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure cohesive and engaging communication strategies.
• Document processes and utilize key tools to streamline communication efforts.
• Engage employees and foster a sense of community within the organization.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Strong interest in corporate communication and internal comms strategies.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and communication apps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Frequently required to talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils.
• The noise level in the work environment is generally loud, in which hearing protection is required.
