Steptoe LLP seeks an a 3rd to 4th year associate with 2 to 4 years of experience in patent and/or trade secret litigation to join the Firm?s IP practice group in its, its Chicago, New York or Washington, DC office.

Admission
Admission to the Washington, DC, Illinois Illinois, or New York Bar (depending on office location), active and in good standing, is required, as is an required. An undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, electrical engineering or computer science, or substantially similar.science is also required. Registration to practice before the USPTO is strongly preferred. An advanced science or technical degree, industry experience, and computer programming skills are pluses.

Candidates
Candidates must have strong writing abilities, interpersonal and communication skills, a track record of technical analysis, and persuasive writing abilities.analysis. We are looking for candidates who can and want to assume immediate responsibility and who are willing to work on high-stakes cases as an integral part of a collaborative team.

The anticipated salary range is $235,000 $260,000 to $310,000, depending on qualifications and other factors.experience.
