Responsibilities Mintz is seeking a special counsel with 7+ years of experience to join our litigation team in New York or Washington, DC. Candidates should have an interest in working on insurance and reinsurance disputes and developing pretrial and trial practice. Responsibilities include drafting of complex submissions, preparation of witnesses, expert discovery and trial practice. Many of these disputes are tried in an arbitral setting, which requires advocacy skills. Candidates must be comfortable growing into a role where they will be given significant responsibility. Please note this is a senior off-track position. Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm encourages working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm?s published guidelines. Qualifications Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school Admitted or eligible for admission in New York or the District of Columbia Experience in complex litigation matters and an interest in arbitration trial practice Insurance/reinsurance background is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients Ability to balance and prioritize competing priorities and responsibilities Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings About Mintz Mintz is an Am Law 100 law firm with over 500 attorneys serving clients worldwide.
