Job Title: Instrument Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Rotating shift work 4am to 4pm 3 days a week and every other Sunday switch to 4pm to 4 am

Salary : $30 - $37.55 Per Hour

The Instrument Technician is responsible for installing, relocating, repairing, designing, adjusting, calibrating, and troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems used in industrial and production equipment.

• Installation & Repairs:
• Receive work orders, wiring diagrams, and specifications to perform system installations, repairs, and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including circuits and wiring.
• Design & Fabrication:
• Design and construct system adaptations and part replacements.
• Fabricate parts using standard tools and equipment.
• Testing & Calibration:
• Utilize precision testing devices, gauges, and other testing equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators) to calibrate and verify system performance.
• Safety & Environment:
• Follow all safety procedures, ensuring proper isolation of systems during work.
• Perform repairs in challenging environments (towers, catwalks, pits) using mobile equipment when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Collaboration & Training:
• Analyze circuits and system diagrams, collaborating with the engineering department to recommend improvements.
• Train plant personnel as needed on system operation and maintenance.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in training programs to stay current with new equipment and technologies.
Tools, Equipment & Materials
• Tools & Equipment:
• Electrical and electronic tools, gauges, precision testing devices, oscilloscopes, function generators, hand and power tools, welding and soldering equipment.
• Mobile equipment such as forklifts and personnel lifts.
• Materials:
• Motors, transformers, sensors, control systems, electronic devices, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Additional materials include pipe, tubing, paint, and various soldering and cleaning supplies.
Supervision
• Reports to the Shift Supervisor or Lead Person while working independently with minimal supervision.

• Technical Expertise:
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
• Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams, circuits, and technical specifications.
• Tool Proficiency:
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools, precision testing instruments, and welding/soldering equipment.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
• Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Strong understanding of static/dynamic physics and equipment operation principles.
• Safety Awareness:
• Strict adherence to safety protocols, especially when working in challenging and hazardous environments.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams and training plant personnel.
• Physical Capability:
• Comfortable working in diverse and challenging environments, including exposure to hazardous materials and inclement weather.
