Job Summary:
The Legal Division provides legal counsel to the Industrial Commission of Arizona. The Legal Division has two Assistant Chief Counsel positions that assist the Chief Counsel in managing and overseeing the Legal Division. The primary duties of this Assistant Chief Counsel position are to provide legal representation and services to the ICA, specifically its members, Director, Deputy Director, and the Commission?s various divisions. The Assistant Chief Counsel also assists in the oversight and supervision of the Legal Division. manage, supervise, and direct the staff attorneys, legal administrative staff, Workers? Compensation Fraud Investigations Unit and Compliance Unit and assist and advise the ICA collections department. Including supervising legal activities of the Division, and participates in planning, development, and implementing Divisional programs, goals and initiatives. The ICA is seeking a candidate with supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Graduate of an American Bar Association accredited college of law; Active member (in good standing) of the State Bar of Arizona.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Minimum 5 years of experience in areas of law related to that described herein.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver?s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver?s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver?s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:
