Hospice Medical Social Worker

Overview: For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. • Minimum one (1) year bereavement counseling experience is preferred.
• At least one year of Hospice or Home Care experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Position requires ability to commute to multiple territories to ensure continuity of care.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A vehicle is required to commute to patients. (This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work:? Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work. Education:?

• MSW from an accredited school of social work and one-year related experience.
• LMSW or LCSW required.
