Heavy Equipment Mechanic

1 Resource Group is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our clients team covering the Chesapeake VA area. This role is vital in providing excellent service and repair to a variety of earth moving heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is reliable and safe for use.

In this position, you will be responsible for working on equipment like bulldozers, excavators, and cranes, making technical assessments, and performing repairs on-site or in our shop. We offer competitive pay and great benefits for our team members.

• Diagnose and repair the mechanical and electrical components of heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure equipment is serviced efficiently.
• Order parts and manage inventory as needed for repairs.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and maintenance practices.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor as needed.
• Must be able to pass a background, MVR and drug screen/ physcial to drive company provided truck.
