Finance Transformation Manager, Project Kuiper Accounting PMO, GTM

It's a new Day 1 for Kuiper and we are looking for team members to join the Accounting PMO supporting this emerging business.

This position supports and can directly influence the launches of some of Amazon?s newest global business initiatives in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. This role will work closely with the global financial systems team, accounting operations teams, tax, treasury, and others representing the accounting organization to various stakeholders. In this role, the candidate will be part of a team that collaborates with business finance and technical teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.

This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.

Key job responsibilities

Own and Manage: You'll support lifecycle activities from beginning to end (planning, requirements gathering, technology team partnerships, UAT planning and performance, project closing, and stakeholder engagement) for your area of responsibility

Automate: You'll work on automation projects and support coordination of designing processes and tools to make financial statement processes easier and more accurate.

Support Expansion: You'll drive expansion of Amazon business by ensuring implementation of controlled processes to keep Amazon?s financial statements materially correct (expansions will be both along geographical and feature dimensions)

Consult and Collaborate: You'll operate as a valued consultant to partner with many different stakeholder teams across Amazon. You'll collaborate with Amazonians of diverse backgrounds.

Successful candidates will have experience in Accounting operations/support, Program Management, Process Design and Development, and Financial Systems integrations/support. Candidate experience should reflect emerging leadership skills (managing up, out, and down; contributing to team culture; working through ambiguity with highly complex first-in-kind challenges), street-smart project management (including familiarity with requirements lifecycle, testing support, conflict/stakeholder/change management with a keen eye for ?future-proofing? as we go), and a passion for scalable and sustainable financial record processes.

A day in the life

This role will support the consumer-facing operations of Kuiper, both for the initial launch and as Kuiper expands beyond. There are tremendous complexities and nuances in this space, providing significant opportunity (and demand) for Accounting to collaborate on solution/process build and design and work through tradeoff decisions, requiring us to engage shoulder-to-shoulder with product management and engineering. This is a fast-paced, volatile space as is expected in a new business - candidates should expect to be highly engaged in not just the immediate work, but also thinking ahead to scaling 'the ways of working' to continue to drive momentum for Kuiper.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

5+ Years of program or project management experience

Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Experience managing accounting/finance process improvements and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules

Preferred Qualifications

CPA

PMP or other program management certifications

Experience in accounting operational processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
