This position is for an experienced Process Improvement chemical engineer in the Polymers Process Development group within the Plastics & Circularity Development Division (PCDD) in Technology. This role will be

supporting

the polymers area with a focus on driving various initiatives related to circularity and new product development.

Responsibilities

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ? Drive process improvement in a manufacturing environment while maintaining all applicable safety, regulatory, change management, and environmental compliance requirements.

MANUFACTURING SUPPORT - Provide timely assistance to manufacturing to resolve production processing problems, support cost savings initiatives, and advance safety programs.

SAFETY ? Demonstrate safety leadership.

COLLABORATION - Partner with colleagues as part of cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, Engineering and other functions to drive process improvement, growth programs and business initiatives.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH - Enhance professional growth and technical awareness by keeping abreast of technical literature in the field and pursuing relevant training while developing areas of interest and expertise.

COMMUNICATION - Provide timely communications to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities and decisions to ensure project success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.

Five (5) or more years of experience in a chemical plant manufacturing environment required.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment; solve difficult problems and work well with others. The candidate will be expected to both lead and serve on team projects.

Must be dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers; practice active listening, speak clearly and concisely, write clearly and concisely; make decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment and set objectives and goals independently

Familiarity with industrial plant environments and equipment is required.

Exhibit good leadership attitudes and behaviors.

Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties.

Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
