Responsibilities
Remote candidates located in the Eastern and Central time zones will be considered
The State Tax Manager?s primary responsibilities are managing state compliance processes and ensuring the Company is in compliance with tax laws.
Additionally, the State Tax Manager is responsible for state income tax reporting, planning, and tax audit activities. This includes supporting the SEC reporting function through the management of state tax ASC 740 requirements.
Manage tax compliance processes related to state income tax returns
Manage state tax provision processes under ASC 740 including the reporting of income tax contingencies, tax attribute tracking and realization, and supporting the audits/reviews performed by external auditors
Proactively identify and effectively execute on tax savings opportunities
Research tax laws and track, analyze, and communicate impacts of proposed tax law changes
Assist with tax due diligence on potential acquisitions
Work closely with federal tax team to ensure state related impacts are considered
Provide tax guidance to business units on large domestic contracts and projects
Effectively manage multiple ongoing state tax audits
Effectively partner with management and other finance personnel
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Domestic Tax Director
Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years in a large corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4 or similar.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
CPA and Masters of Taxation are preferred
Skills/Attributes:
Extensive knowledge of ASC 740 tax provisions and corporate income tax laws required
Corporate experience with global operations preferred
Experience utilizing tax research tools (e.g., BNA, CCH)
Experience with tax provision and compliance software (e.g., OneSource, CorpTax)
Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
Detail oriented with strong research and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; solid team player
Extensive Microsoft Office application experience #LI-Remote
