Parsons Behle & Latimer has an opening in our Salt Lake City, Utah office for an EENR attorney with 2-5 years of experience.associate. Parsons is a regional law firm that has national expertise in numerous practice areas. The firm is at the forefront of the legal communities in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana and the Intermountain Region. The candidate will join the firm?s EENR Department, working on environmental regulatory matters including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. The candidate will assist clients in ongoing compliance advice and permitting, as well as provide support on litigation matters. Requirements and Qualifications: Experience advising clients on the requirements of federal and state environmental laws and regulations Experience in regulatory compliance in conducting audits, developing compliance strategies, and assisting with permit applications and renewals Experience representing clients in enforcement actions brought by regulatory agencies Experience conducting investigations, developing defense strategies, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings Ability to stay informed regarding evolving environmental regulations and provide effective legal counsel Undergraduate science degree or experience in a science-based job preferred Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school Admitted to practice in Utah or ability to be admitted on motion Ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Good judgment, responsiveness, and perseverance Strong academic credentials The firm?s competitive compensation and benefits package includes medical and dental coverages, generous retirement benefits, life insurance coverage, and short-term and long-term disability coverages.
