Requirements

Responsibilities - The Engineering Manager will build a high-performing team to create exceptional products and customer experiences through influencing and coaching. This individual will collaborate with tech leads, engineers, and product owners to design and develop the product(s) to integrate with various airline web APIs.

Lead by example, be a role model for the team, and build a culture of ownership and accountability

Mentor, coach, and inspire tech leads and engineers in multiple teams to achieve business goals, technical excellence, and personal growth

Improve co-ownership and accountability on the product and delivery

Build a collaborative and secure environment for team members to share ideas/thoughts

Work with Technical expert consultants/contractors to solve complex technical problems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and architects, to deliver innovative integrations with airline web APIs.

Build Proof of concepts and motivate team members to co-evolve the product

Plan, prioritize, and execute projects to meet business goals while adhering to timelines and quality standards

Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems at optimal cost

Partner with stakeholders (product managers, project managers, architects) to align on strategy, define clear objectives, and deliver business-centric features

Continuously refine development processes, ensuring high-quality code and efficient workflows

Measure, change, and improve processes to evolve product, quality, and delivery velocity continuously

Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions that meet business and technical needs

Work with the team closely to solve complex problems

Qualifications, Technical Expertise, and Experience -

Experience with the travel / flight domain is highly desirable.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution must include computer science, engineering, or a related subject

13-15 years of overall software development experience in a technology-oriented organization including 4+ years in leading multiple technology teams

Experience with advanced web scraping and proxy is highly desirable

Hands-on experience in Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and project execution

Proven track record of coaching and mentoring tech leads and senior engineers

Experience working with e-commerce/B2C, B2B, and enterprise software environments (B2B experience would be highly desirable)

Experience in leading Web Development & IT projects based on Agile, Scrum, and Extreme programming Methodologies such as Clean Code

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals

Hands-on experience with programming languages e.g. javascript, nodejs, C# .Net, .Net Core, and Python

Solid knowledge of OOP software concepts, design patterns, and best practices

Experience working on scalable software deployments on Unix/Linux e.g. Debian, Ubuntu, and RHEL. Experience with GCP would be a plus.

Hands-on experience with ORM tools; one RDBMS PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL would be essential. Experience with NoSQL, and cache databases like Redis would be desirable.

Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN; and deployment tools like Ansible, would be desirable
