Editor - Journeyman

Global Dimensions is a HUBZone, service disabled, veteran-owned small business based in Fredericksburg, VA. We are a dynamic, expanding company with exciting opportunities in language/culture, training/education/instruction, IT, cyber security, and intelligence (analysts, CI, HUMINT, SIGINT, etc.). Global Dimensions is currently seeking a Journeyman Editor for a position in Springfield, VA.

Editors:

• Provide a full range of support in the production and dissemination of finished products, specifically, working with analytic customers (authors).
• Conduct final reviews of text, graphics and other formats for intelligence products.
• Formulate simple queries for relevant databases, produce publications in accordance to standards.
• Possess professional-level expertise with electronic publishing applications - Microsoft Office Suite, QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker, Acrobat; structured authoring software - SGML, XML, and HTML.

Requirements

• Current/Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
• At least 3 years of editing experience along with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Journalism or English OR at least 5 years of editing experience without the specified degree.
• Working knowledge with electronic publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, and FrameMaker.
• Working knowledge with structured authoring software (SGML, XML and HTML) and expert ability to format documents using such software.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent writing skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the following applications: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook. Working knowledge of Worldwide Web and multimedia technologies.
• Must be willing to take an editor exam (provided by NGA) to assess current capabilities to perform the required tasks of the position.
