Director of Engineering - Brand Convention Hotel

Marvin Love and Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to join our team at a prestigious brand convention hotel. In this vital role, you will oversee the engineering department, ensuring the proper maintenance, operation, and enhancement of hotel facilities and systems to provide exceptional service to our guests.

Compensation: Salary of up to $105k, 20% Bonus, $8k Relo, 60+Day Temp Housing

Title: Director of Engineering

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all engineering operations, including maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, systems, and equipment.
• Oversee the work of engineering staff, providing mentorship and training to ensure high-performance standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifecycle of hotel assets.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
• Work closely with department heads to support their engineering needs and address any maintenance issues promptly.
• Prepare and manage budgets for the engineering department, optimizing resources while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate on projects to enhance guest experiences through aesthetic and functional improvements to property.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of engineering supplies and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering within a hotel or resort setting, demonstrating leadership and technical skills. Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Director of Engineering or similar role in a hospitality environment
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in engineering or related field
