Position: Business Development Director
Location: San Diego, California
Position Type: 5 days Onsite Exempt Position

Salary range: $100,000-$200,000 annually.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategicBusiness Development Directorto drive growth, partnerships, and revenue expansion within thebiotechnology industry. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and leading strategic initiatives to enhance market presence. The ideal candidate will have astrong background in biotech, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals, along with expertise instrategic partnerships, licensing, and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensivebusiness development strategyto drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Identify and evaluate newpartnerships, licensing opportunities, and collaborationswith biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions.
  • Lead initiatives to expandproduct pipelines, service offerings, and commercialization strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strongrelationships with key industry stakeholders, including investors, corporate partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Negotiate and closestrategic partnerships, joint ventures, and licensing agreementsto support business goals.
  • Represent the company atconferences, networking events, and industry forumsto enhance brand visibility and drive engagement.
  • Conductmarket research and competitive analysisto identify trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations tosenior leadershipfor business expansion initiatives.
  • Monitorindustry regulations, funding opportunities, and government policiesimpacting the biotech sector.
  • Work closely withR&D, finance, marketing, and regulatory teamsto align business objectives with scientific advancements.
  • Support the development ofcommercialization strategiesfor biotech products and innovations.
  • Lead and mentor a team ofbusiness development professionalsto achieve company goals.

Requirements

  • 10 year work experience;
  • More than 5 years team management experience.
  • Manage team subordinates more than 21.
  • The average job tenure is 30 months.
  • Life-science industry, IVD preferred.
  • Less 7 companies, no consulting experience.
  • Regulatory Understanding, Familiarity with FDA, IVDR, and other relevant regulations affecting biotech and diagnostics.
  • Market Analysis,Ability to assess market trends, competition, and business opportunities.
