General Position Summary

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

Cowlitz County Prosecuting Attorney?s Office

Position open until filled.

Seeking career-minded attorney interested in criminal prosecution. Opportunity to litigate all phases of criminal cases, including:

Jury trials
Pursuing justice for victims
Advising law enforcement on criminal investigations
Making charging decisions
Negotiating plea agreements
Representing the State at court hearings
Writing and arguing criminal appeals

Cowlitz County is a medium-sized county in southwest Washington offering many beautiful lakes, rivers, and access to Mt. St. Helens. Our county is located on the I-5 corridor bordering the Columbia River, 45 minutes north of Portland.

Minimum Qualifications

Law degree from an accredited college or university.
Admission to the Washington State Bar Association.
