Job Description

The Bay Area and Los Angeles offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP are seeking Associates to join our market-leading Debt Finance Practice Group. Candidates should have 2-6 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: structuring, documentation and negotiation of secured and unsecured financing transactions for both borrowers and lenders, including senior secured, mezzanine and subordinated debt transactions; acquisition financings; and loan workouts. Candidates with leveraged finance experience, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions, are preferred.

Kirkland?s Debt Finance Practice focuses primarily on representing private equity funds and other corporate borrowers. Serving more than 500 private equity clients, we are recognized by Chambers & Partners for our outstanding work and excellence in client service. According to Bloomberg, Debtwire and Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters), our more than 300 debt finance lawyers consistently handle more transactions for borrowers than any other law firm in the world and, for the last five years, have led the market in U.S. borrower transactions. Kirkland & Ellis LLP offers a competitive salary structure as well as a robust offering of benefits to all of its employees and attorneys. Compensation is based upon the roles and responsibilities of the position, the experience and education of the applicant and/or employee and is aligned with internal pay equity within Kirkland & Ellis LLP itself. The hiring salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $390,000. These figures are not representative of the full compensation range for this position.
