Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a mid-level mid-to-senior level associate attorney, with mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and/or joint venture experience, to join our nationally recognized Healthcare Industry Team. Sheppard Mullin?s multidisciplinary Healthcare Industry Team is among the most cutting edge and fastest growing in the country. With 230+ attorneys in 16 offices, our team serves all sectors of the healthcare industry, from hospitals and large provider systems, to health plans, to digital health and AI solutions providers, to the institutional and private equity investors who support them.
This position can be based in any of the following offices: New York, Washington, D.C., Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Del Mar, San Diego, San Francisco, Orange County, Houston, or Silicon Valley.
As a core member of our Healthcare Industry Team, you will work directly with partners and associates to advise some of the most dynamic and innovative healthcare clients in the country, in all phases of their corporate life cycle, with a primary focus on strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, healthcare-focused private equity and venture capital investments, and cutting-edge joint venture transactions between the industry?s largest and most innovative clients. You will also assist clients with their corporate and organizational workflow, including assisting with corporate formation, operational strategy, contract negotiations and other corporate matters.
You will join a dynamic and cohesive team of partners guiding your work, mentoring you in every phase of your practice, and supporting your professional development. Regular career progression and training sessions are key components of our practice. Our Healthcare Industry Team partners will provide you with substantive training and regular professional and career guidance in the ever-evolving and complex world of healthcare law and transactions. We will provide you with transactional experience and industry know-how to grow your knowledge base and practice, and we will encourage and support your efforts to develop direct client relationships in furtherance of your broader career goals.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and/or joint venture in the healthcare industry.
- Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to take ownership of projects, work effectively as a member of a team and communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors regularly.
- Candidates must be admitted to the bar in the state in which they are applying.
- Outstanding academic credentials from an accredited law school are required.
