Job Description
Pristine Home Renovations (PHR), a high-growth residential remodeling firm serving homeowners across Tallahassee and surrounding areas, is seeking a proven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and optimize internal operations across all departments. This is a critical second-in-command role responsible for translating the CEO's vision into actionable strategies while overseeing all major business functions including Sales, Design, Project Management, Finance, and HR.
This position is ideal for an experienced operator who has already helped scale a service-based or construction business to $10M+ in annual revenue and knows how to build and lead a high-performance team. The COO will bring clarity, structure, and systems thinking into the company, freeing the CEO to focus on vision, growth, and brand strategy.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Execution & Business Scaling- Collaborate with the CEO to define and execute strategic growth initiatives.
- Design and implement scalable processes to support the next phase of growth.
- Establish quarterly priorities and ensure cross-departmental alignment on goals.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across Estimating, Sales, Design, Project Management, and Finance/Admin.
- Optimize and track KPIs for each department; drive accountability and operational performance.
- Identify gaps in systems, personnel, or workflows and develop solutions.
- Support department leads in hiring, onboarding, SOP development, and training.
- Lead a growing team with empathy, clear expectations, and a focus on outcomes.
- Work alongside CEO to transition ownership of certain leadership functions while retaining the PHR culture.
- Drive a culture of proactive communication, performance, and values alignment.
- Collaborate with CEO and accountant/bookkeeper to review financial health and forecasting.
- Analyze gross margins by department or service type; implement cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure vendor pricing, contracts, and subcontractor relationships are optimized and aligned with scaling needs.
- Support the sales team with process structure, training cadence, and lead management workflows.
- Assist in evaluating pricing strategy and client lifecycle experience from lead to job completion.
Liaise between Design, Estimating, and PMs to ensure job handoffs are tight and profitable.
Requirements
Key Qualifications- 5+ years in a senior operations role in a home services, construction, or design/build company with $5M$15M+ in revenue.
- Strong track record scaling operations, building systems, and managing teams.
- Deep understanding of workflow optimization, financial levers in construction projects, and team dynamics.
- Experience using platforms like Monday.com, Houzz Pro, or Buildertrend is preferred.
- Strong communicator, proactive problem solver, and culture carrier.
- Integrator: You are naturally strong at translating vision into systems and execution.
- Builder: You enjoy architecting teams, systems, and repeatable results.
- Driver: You hold people accountable and raise the standard of performance.
Advisor: You are a trusted sounding board who supports the CEO without needing to be micromanaged.

Benefits
Compensation & Structure- Base Salary: $110,000$135,000 based on experience.
- Performance Bonus: Structured against KPIs tied to gross margin, project throughput, and company profitability.
- Equity / Profit Share Potential: Considered after initial 12-month ramp-up based on aligned milestones.
