GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is currently seeking a full-time Construction and Field Survey Technician to join our team in Basin, Wyoming.
Under limited supervision, this position performs a variety of technical duties in support of transportation projects, including conducting surveys and inspections for preliminary design and construction activities, as well as performing material testing. This role is essential in helping WYDOT deliver a safe, high-quality, and efficient transportation system for the State of Wyoming.
Basin was established in 1896 as a hub for the region's rich agricultural roots and is known today as the ?Lilac City? and the heart of the Bighorn Basin. Located near the Bighorn Mountains, the area offers abundant outdoor recreation opportunities such as camping, fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, skiing, ATV riding, snowmobiling, hiking, boating, and swimming. In addition, Wyoming hasno state income tax, providing a significant financial benefit for residents.

Qualifications
PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
This is an entry-level position; the department will provide the candidate with proper training to perform all assigned duties for the position.
Must have the ability to obtain a Valid Driver's License
Must have the ability to obtain QC/QA Certification in Soils and Aggregate, Asphalt, and Concrete
Must have the ability to obtain American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Certification

Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Construction and Field Surveying) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Construction and Field Survey Assistant
