Experience Only:
Eight (8) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
Or
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to eight (8) years. Relevant education may include a degree in: Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or other closely-related field
Must maintain certification as a food protection manager from an accredited program or obtain such within six months of hire.
Preferred qualifications include:
Leadership & Supervisionof 15+ employees and/or second-level supervisory responsibility.
Specialized Operational Experienceincluding high-volume institutional or commissary food production in a hospital, correctional, or other secure healthcare environment.
Program Management & Optimizationincluding designing and implementing production schedules and workflow systems, developing centralized distribution processes. Specific experience in creating large-scale recipe validation systems, and implementing strategies for food waste reduction and yield optimization.
Fiscal Management & Complianceexperience, including m anaging or assisting with a large operational budget, implementing cost-control measures while maintaining service quality and therapeutic nutrition standards, and State procurement and P-card management
Technical Proficiencywith inventory management systems, menu management software, production forecasting tools, and spreadsheet-based cost modeling.
