Cleared American Guard ( CAG )

Clearance: ACTIVE Top-Secret

The Cleared American Guard (CAG) is professionally trained to protect the security integrity of the construction site and responsible for protection of building materials, furniture, fixtures, and other items. CAGs will perform access control functions at all vehicle and pedestrian entrances to the site throughout the project period.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen.
• Must be at least twenty-one(21) years of age.
• Have and maintain a Top-SecretU.S. Government Security Clearance.
• In good physical health andmeet medical requirements for the position.
• High school diploma or GEDequivalent.
• Preferably three (3) years ofmilitary experience as a Military Policeman or Marine Security Guard orthree (3) years of experience as a security watch stander.
• Experienced in the use of alarmsystems, metal detectors, x-ray device, and closed-circuit televisionsystems.
• Capable of reading and speakingEnglish, and be able to write legible, concise reports in English.

Duties:

• Screens all non-clearedworkers, vehicles, and equipment entering or exiting the project site.
• Denies introduction ofprohibited materials such as explosives, weapons, electronic devices, orother items as specified by the Accrediting Official (AO) or designee.
• Conducts random inspections ofall site areas to ensure no prohibited materials have been brought on tothe site.
• Ensures that all suspiciousmaterials or incidents be brought to the attention of the site securitymanager or construction surveillance technician.
• Monitors all non-cleared guardsprovided by the construction company.
• Maintains and operates theSecure Storage Area (SSA) established by the assigned construction companywithin the construction site footprint where they will store constructionmaterials and equipment that will be used for the project.

Position Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen with anactive TOP Secret clearance.
• Must have at least 3 years'experience in a security field. Candidates with overseas experience arehighly preferred.
• Active DOS CAG certification.
