Chief Engineer

The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos is seeking a Chief Engineer for our Reston, VA location. The

primary focus of the group is reverse engineering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) related facilities. Candidate

must bring a technically sound multi-disciplinary approach to identifying and solving challenges where all the information desired is inherently unavailable. The successful candidate will lead technical members of an interdisciplinary team of government and contractor personnel. Work will be performed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment within a government facility

Role and Responsibility:

The candidate shall perform the following:

Provide technical execution and development oversight of subordinate staff supporting a wide variety of research and development (R&D) projects as well and operations and maintenance (O&M) analytic projects.

Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. Lead the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts.

Coordinate with the production coordination staff, fellow technical chiefs, portfolio managers, and the Deputy Program Manager for Technical Capabilities to manage resources assigned to current projects.

Work within the team to explore technical solutions to current and emerging challenges and opportunities for optimization of current work.

Leadership and management functions for your team.

Brief senior officials regarding technical solutions, capability, and trends.

Requirements and Qualifications:

US Citizenship is required.

Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearance.

Candidate must possess a Masters degree with 15 ? 20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 ? 16 years of prior relevant experience involving both multi-disciplinary technical and personnel management aspects.

Engineering or hard science degree.

Experience in lieu of degree.

Five plus years of experience with Defense or Intelligence community work.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully communicate with personnel at all levels of seniority and technical competence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degrees across multiple STEM fields.

Working knowledge of chemical, biologic, radiologic, and nuclear weapons, phenomenology, production, or neutralization.

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and life-safety systems and their controls found in larger commercial, government, or industrial facilities.

Experience in engineering and system of systems modeling and simulation.

Working knowledge of protective engineering or physical force protection measures.

Experience with the application of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to engineering problems.

Experience integrating engineering solutions with software development.

Facility planning experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
