Job Description
The associates in the position will: Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs related to shareholder disputes and securities litigation cases; Conduct discovery, including drafting, reviewing, and analyzing large volume of documents, particularly electronically stored information; Ensure compliance with rules of civil procedure and rules of evidence; Attend client meetings, depositions, and trials and maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and ethics; Timely produce thorough, accurate work with many competing demands, deadlines, and distractions; Work in a team and collaborate with others to ensure that clients? needs are being met/exceeded; Develop relationships with clients as they establish legal needs, provide counsel, help them understand their legal options, and represent them in court and negotiations; Conduct research and provide analysis/interpretations of legal problems, laws, rulings, and regulations; Research/analyze the law on complex issues and perform due diligence. The position may telecommute up to 40% and must be located in Philadelphia, PA.
Candidates must possess knowledge acquired through coursework, work experience, training, or certification in the following areas: Federal securities laws and regulations, including the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934; Corporate governance, including fiduciary duties; Rules of civil procedure and rules of evidence; Legal analysis, research, and writing, including research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis; The Securities and Exchange Commission rules and regulations; Corporate compliance, including laws and guidelines that govern ethics of public companies, corporate compliance programs and risk assessment; Financial reporting and disclosure requirements. Requires up to 10% domestic travel. May telecommute/work remotely up to 40%. Must be willing to undergo a successful background check for employment.
Candidates must have a Juris Doctor (or foreign degree equivalent) in Law and must be licensed to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania (or be willing to waive in or sit for and pass the bar exam).
The salary for this position is $235,000 per year.
