POSITION SUMMARY, RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Honigman?s Business Immigration practice group is comprised of a team of attorneys with a wide range of business immigration experience across all facets of the practice area. Our team works with domestic and multinational clients of all sizes across a wide range of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, automotive, management consulting, higher education, and manufacturing. The staff attorney will support all aspects of our Business Immigration practice group, including the preparation, review and filing of nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare, review and file non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, Blanket and individual L-1, TN, O-1 and EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, NIW and PERM-based I-140 petitions; Support the PERM labor certification process on behalf of companies in a wide range of industries; Research, summarize, and/or review agency guidance, cases, regulations, and statutes related to complex immigration issues and policy changes; Interact with various outside entities, including but not limited to, clients, governmental agencies and officials, and other law firms; Deliver high quality work-product and effectively communicate at all levels of the Firm; Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills; Exhibit highly responsive and efficient work habits; Strive to continuously improve knowledge, skills and abilities and seek guidance and feedback to improve performance and productivity; Take responsibility for enhancing expertise, in addition to seeking out formal and informal training; and Collaborate with practice group members to serve clients effectively. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5 years of business immigration experience; Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under significant time constraints; Ability to independently prepare, review and file nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions; Ability to supervise and provide direction to a team of paralegals and practice assistants; Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills required; J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited institution; Licensed Michigan, Illinois, or Washington, DC attorney in good standing (or with ability to waive into either jurisdiction); and Ability to travel as client needs require. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary range for this position is $160,000-$180,000 annually.
