Job Description

We are seeking an associate with 4+ years of patent counseling and prosecution experience to join our Intellectual Property group. Our patent counseling and prosecution team is exclusively focused on the life sciences industry, which is why many high-profile companies entrust us with their most critical small and large molecule patent development, protection, and enforcement issues. We represent pre-public and discovery stage biotechnology pharmaceutical companies as well as established, publicly traded international pharmaceutical companies in worldwide patent portfolio development ? from prosecution and counseling to due diligence, transactions, and infringement defense and avoidance. We routinely represent clients in patent disputes before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Our lawyers also have extensive experience and much success in developing strategies to protect second generation drugs and biologics. Additionally, our practice is top ranked across industry publications, including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 US. Salary is $310,000+ commensurate with class year and experience. We are looking for: Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline. Experience representing biotech companies and investors in strategic international patent portfolio development and life cycle management, as well as non-infringement and invalidity analysis, post-grant proceedings and IP due diligence. Prior pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus. Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
