Job Description
Richards, Layton & Finger, Delaware?s largest law firm, seeks an exceptional paralegal for its Bankruptcy team in Wilmington, DE. The standard hours for this position are 9:00am-5:30pm. This position offers a hybrid schedule after training is complete. (Current hybrid schedule is remote on Fridays).
This position?s responsibilities would include:
- Working collaboratively with attorneys and other staff to ensure our clients and co-counsel receive outstanding service and attention;
- Assisting with new case filings, working closely with others as appropriate: preparing, drafting, e-filing and service of documents; monitoring cases; maintaining case calendars; assisting counsel with hearing preparation, etc.;
- E-filing using CM/ECF in the Bankruptcy Court and District Court;
- Communicating with counsel and potential creditors; and
- Flexibility in work routine and to work overtime where required as a member of a paralegal team. Overtime responsibilities typically involve one or two evenings per week, and as otherwise required by the necessities of an assigned case.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in e-filing using CM/ECF in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous deadlines/projects;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (to include Word and Excel) and Adobe (to include Adobe Standard and/or Adobe Pro);
- Ability to deal with interruptions and multiple pressures;
- Ability to work in a team environment; and
- Undergraduate degree and paralegal certificate, with at least three (3) years of work as a Bankruptcy paralegal is required.
