About the PositionThe Civil Senior Attorney for Behavioral Health is responsible for representing the Maricopa County Attorney?s Office (MCAO) in hearings on petitions for mental health treatment, reviewing cases involving danger to others, and providing periodic legal training to crisis management workers involved in the civil commitment process. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting and mentoring line attorneys when new or unique situations arise in Civil Mental Health Court. This position is based primarily out of the Valleywise Behavioral Health Hospital and Court location in Mesa, although it will at times require travel to the other Behavioral Health Court locationsAbout the Office of Civil ServicesThe Civil Services Division of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office serves as a law firm that provides legal representation and advice to the County government, its various elected officials and agencies, as well as the dedicated employees of Maricopa County.
