Job Description

Direct Counsel seeking an Associate Attorney for one of our client's active defense litigation group with a focus on general litigation and environmental law practice.

Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on litigation experience, managing cases from start to finish, including complex motion practice, pleadings, discovery, depositions, client communication, and managing junior associates.

Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
CA State Bar License.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including oral argument skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with environmental law, including bedrock environmental laws like CERCLA.
Background in geology or hydrogeology.
Experience in trial, class action, toxic tort, and/or environmental regulatory agency cases.
Administrative and managerial experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage discovery processes, including written discovery, depositions, and document analysis.
Draft legal documents such as pleadings and complex motions.
Conduct legal research.
Appear in court as required.
Supervise junior associates and follow instructions from supervising partners.
