Associate Merchandiser

As Associate Merchandiser at NYC Alliance Company LLC, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our retail business. You will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise buying and planning strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives. This includes analyzing customer demand, forecasting sales, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Responsibilities:

• Make purchasing/assortment decisions that satisfies customer demand to achieve growth, sales, and profitability.
• Understand the competitive marketplace and pursue white space opportunities that align with company strategy.
• Competitive shopping analysis for pricing, trends, new opportunities. Provide suggestions to the team.
• Support Merch Director to set the vision and determine assortment-building opportunities in partnership with Cross-Functional partners.
• Collaborate with merch planning partners to develop and execute assortment strategy.
• Develop pre-season assortment vision that ties to company key priorities and insights from internal company counterparts.
• Partner with Merch Operations/Planning to ensure department-level financial targets support assortment strategy.
• Support the Merchandising Director in building seasonal strategy components based on targets.
• Provide Merch Director with category, class, and item performance analysis to assist in determining in-season item-level changes to make.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in buying/merchandising, preferably in the retail industry
• Experience in women's apparel and special sizes preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other analytics tools
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Agile and capable of navigating change and acting decisively and swiftly.
• Results-driven, able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.

• Annual Salary $65,000 - 75,000
• The offered salary for this position will vary based on role requirements determined by NYC Alliance, skill set and years of experience.
