Job Description

BakerHostetler is seeking a junior associate to join its Business Group. The position offers the opportunity to work in a robust practice doing mergers and acquisitions and general corporate transactions. The associate will work alongside a team known for combining its extensive corporate experience with in-depth regulatory knowledge to represent entities in the insurance and financial services industries.
Qualifications Include:
1-2 years of experience in a wide variety of M&A transactions
M&A experience should include performing and coordinating due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and coordinating closings and post-closing matters
Solid working knowledge of general corporate law and related matters, including choice of entity and entity formation and governance
Experience in other corporate or transactional matters, such as joint ventures and commercial contracts
A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school
Must be admitted to practice in Georgia, eligible to waive admission to the Georgia Bar or willing to sit for the Georgia Bar Exam
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated the following attributes:

o Exceptional project management skills
o Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills; law review or other comparable experience indicating significant research and writing skills a plus
o Ability to manage a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
o The professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment and exercise good judgment in client service
