Chartwell Law is seeking an experiencedGeneral Liability Associateto join our growing team in our New York City office. This position offers shape the opportunity future of law, we?d love to handle a diverse caseload involving a wide range of general liability matters. At Chartwell, we pride ourselves on a collaborative work environment and a commitment to delivering quality legal services to our clients nationwide. Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent
- Represent clients in a broad spectrum of general liability defense matters, including premises premises liability, construction accidents and other types of claims.
- Manage claims.
- Manage cases from inception through resolution?handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Draft
- Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborate
- Collaborate closely with firm partners, clients, claims professionals, and experts to develop and implement effective defense strategies.
- Conduct
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis and recommendations to clients and insurers.
- Maintain
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case activity, ensuring adherence to court deadlines and internal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Juris
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active
- Active license to practice law inNew Yorkis required;New Jerseyadmission in New York is required; New Jersey admission is a plus.
- 3+
- 3+ years of experiencein experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on general liability.
- Strong
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability
- Ability to manage a full caseload independently and effectively while meeting deadlines.

- Professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a client-focused approach.
