Responsibilities:
The Associate Counsel will generally work remotely and must be able to work collaboratively with the CLO, Senior Counsel and members of other multidisciplinary teams. The Associate Counsel will maintain and promote positive relationships with co-workers, patients, local community members and members of the professional community.
The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000, based on experience.

Responsibilities:
The Associate Counsel reports to the Chief Legal Officer (?CLO?) and is an integral part of the Fast Pace Health Legal Team, which focuses on legal and compliance matters while supporting other business units and the company?s growth. Responsibilities include providing legal services as necessary with a focus on quasi-judicial processes, corporate maintenance, health care compliance, litigation and contracting. The Associate Counsel handles all aspects of matters as assigned by the CLO or their designee including, but not limited to, responding to governmental and commercial insurer inquiries, responding to subpoenas, preparing discovery responses, preparing and filing corporate documents, preparing/reviewing pleadings, performing legal research, coordinating with external counsel, and reviewing and revising contracts. The Associate Counsel also identifies training and education opportunities, aides in the preparation of training and education materials, coordinates on correction plans with the CLO, provides direct coaching, training and education to Fast Pace Health providers.

Essential Functions:
- Promote the five principles of Fast Pace: Communication, Teamwork, Empowerment, Quality of Care, and Friendliness.
- Provide exemplary customer service to co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including compliance & corporate staff, supervising physicians, nurse practitioners, physician?s assistants, nurses, clinical staff, and other support staff.
- Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (health care law, labor law, corporate law, etc.)
- Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company?s full legal rights
- Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
- Conduct their work with integrity and responsibility

Experience Requirements and Preferences::
Basic Requirements:
Education: Juris Doctor
AND
Experience:
- At least 3 years of legal experience required
- Preferred at least 5 years of legal experience
- Preferred at least 1 year of experience working autonomously.
Current License or Certification:
- Law Degree
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
- Admitted to practice, or eligible for admission, to practice law in Tennessee
- Eligible for admission to practice law in additional jurisdictions as reasonably requested by the Fast Pace Health family of companies
