Assistant Manager, Media & Artistry Relations

tarte cosmetics is seeking a dynamic Media & Artistry Relations Assistant Manager to elevate our brand presence through strategic communications and strong relationships within the media and makeup artist communities. In this role, you'll develop and implement innovative communication strategies that enhance brand awareness, foster positive sentiment, and engage our audiences across all channels. You'll partner closely with internal teams, external agencies, media outlets, and makeup artists to ensure consistent, impactful messaging that aligns with our brand's mission.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to create and execute communication strategies that boost brand awareness and improve brand sentiment across various channels.
• Develop engaging angles and create content for press releases, newsletters, social media, and other communication platforms that align with our brand voice, ensuring all materials are on-message and resonate with audiences.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and makeup artists to secure coverage and drive brand advocacy. Foster collaborations with makeup artists to expand brand reach, gather authentic product feedback, and enhance brand visibility.
• Write and deliver compelling pitches, press materials, and content to attract media attention and communicate brand stories. Tailor messaging to both media outlets and makeup artist partners.
• Work closely with internal teams to maintain consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels, ensuring brand voice is unified and impactful.
• Provide copywriting and communication support for various departments, ensuring that content meets the needs of each team while staying true to the brand's voice.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
• Min 4 years proven experience in communications, editorial or public relations role
• Experience building and maintaining key relationships with editors, media, makeup artists, and others in the beauty community.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a creative flair; ability to adopt brand voice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with media relations and pitching to journalists
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
