Accounts Payable Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, as well as proficiency in financial software.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices (property management)
• Key invoices into system
• Reconcile vendor statements to vendor activity in accounts payable
• Procure W-9's and insurance certificates from vendors/subcontractors
• Follow up on expired insurance certifications for active subcontractors
• Handle vendor inquiries and maintain vendor relationships
• Maintain accounts payable e-mail inbox
• Assist with preparation of 1099's and audit support at the end of the year
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Attendance and punctuality are an essential function to this position

Requirements

• Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Must be able to operate independently and also contribute to a team
• Communicate with co-workers, management, vendors, tenants, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Accurate use of grammar, spelling and punctuation in communications
• Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving capabilities
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping
• Proficiency in accounts payable processes
• Familiarity with financial concepts and reporting standards
• Experience with financial software, particularly Yardi is a plus.
