Summer Associates are exposed to the full range and diversity of an intellectual property law practice. Summers receive real work assignments involving litigation, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, prosecution, licensing, and the drafting of opinions and briefs as well as pro bono opportunities. Summers receive specialized training that complements your legal studies in areas such as legal writing, patent application filing strategies, overview of licensing, and an overview of PTAB and litigation best practices. Summers meet peers drawn from top law schools across the country and have ample opportunity to socialize with Finnegan partners and associates?all in structured circumstances that stress professionalism, training, and development. The Summer Associate Program is hosted in our Atlanta, Boston, Palo Alto, Reston, or Washington, DC offices. Finnegan seeks Summer Associates with outstanding technical backgrounds in the chemical/biological sciences, electrical/mechanical or computer engineering. Prior patent experience a plus.
