Job Description
We are seeking a driven VMware engineer to improve and optimize our company's VMware network. Your main responsibilities will include deploying VMware applications in both physical and virtual environments, integrating multiple virtual servers onto one host machine, and providing support for all VMware related issues.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of VMware ESX and other related technologies, as well as previous experience in a similar position. A skilled VMware engineer will be able to successfully integrate VMware products across multiple data centers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluating existing network infrastructure and systems to determine business needs.
- Optimizing network hardware and software to enable seamless VMware integration.
- Developing and deploying customized VMware solutions.
- Creating multiple virtual servers on a single host machine.
- Virtualizing Windows servers and connecting them to networks and clouds.
- Designing and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and managing templates.
- Installing operating systems, service packs, security patches, and bug fixes.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues with the VMware environment.
- Providing technical support and documenting VMware processes.
- Staying updated on developments in VMware technologies and products.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer programming, or a related field.
- Preferred certification as a VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- At least 2 years of experience in a VMware engineering role.
- Proficiency in VMware programs and coding languages such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture, WebSphere, Citrix, Python, and C++.
- Extensive knowledge of VMware ESX and related technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent analytical and technical abilities.
- Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to address urgent VMware environment issues outside of regular business hours.
