Job Description
We are seeking a qualified VFD field technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and repairing VFD systems for our clients. This includes troubleshooting, commissioning, and responding to equipment breakdowns. You will also perform preventative maintenance and recommend equipment upgrades to our clients.
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive knowledge of VFD systems, advanced electrical skills, and experience with sales. A top-notch VFD field technician can install, troubleshoot, and service any VFD unit without causing extended downtime for the client.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to discuss their VFD electrical needs.
- Order supplies and maintain stock levels.
- Check electrical connections to ensure proper application of equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and commission VFD units at clients' locations.
- Provide basic VFD instructions and equipment training.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns.
- Test, calibrate, and repair damaged VFD units.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and promote company sales.
- Maintain field instrumentation and equipment.
- Complete work orders and maintain strong customer relationships.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a VFD field technician.
- Extensive knowledge of VFD electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PCL and SCADA/HMI codes.
- Experience with calibration devices and field metering equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
