We are looking for a knowledgeable urologist to provide specialized care for people with urinary tract and male reproductive issues. This includes treating problems with the kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs, such as the prostate and external genitalia.
To be successful as a urologist, you should have a good understanding of the male and female genitourinary organs and experience with different medical treatments. It's also important to be caring and understanding towards your patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Examining, diagnosing, and treating conditions of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs
- Recording and reviewing patients' medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Using specialized equipment, such as X-rays and catheters
- Performing surgeries when necessary
- Treating problems with the lower urinary tract
- Prescribing medications for infections or injuries
- Prescribing medications for erectile dysfunction, infertility, or ejaculation problems
- Providing consultations or referring patients to other specialists
- Supervising other medical staff
Requirements and Qualifications
- A medical degree and completion of a residency and fellowship in urology
- A state license and certification to practice urology
