Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated urgent care nurse to join our team at our urgent care facility. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients' medical conditions, monitoring changes in their vital signs, and administering treatments as needed.
To be successful in this position, you should have experience working in urgent care facilities with similar patients, and be able to handle high-pressure situations. A great urgent care nurse is someone who uses their clinical expertise to provide the best possible care for their patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing patients' charts, medications, and test results upon arrival.
- Conducting physical exams and keeping track of heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
- Interpreting health measurements, administering prescribed medications, and providing appropriate treatments.
- Inserting IVs and adjusting medication doses as needed.
- Collecting blood and other diagnostic samples.
- Analyzing lab test results and working with doctors to create treatment plans.
- Notifying primary healthcare providers immediately if a patient's condition worsens.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and files.
- Supervising nursing assistants and other support staff.
- Explaining procedures, treatments, and after-care instructions to patients and answering their questions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
- At least 2 years of experience working as an urgent care nurse in a similar facility.
- Proficiency in electronic patient management systems, such as Mediexcel and e-MDs Chart.
- Extensive experience in assessing patients, inserting IVs, and collecting blood samples.
- Thorough knowledge of best practices in urgent care nursing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and ability to handle stress.
- Great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Availability to work different shifts as needed.
