This includes meeting with clients or designers, selecting the right materials, and installing the upholstery according to their preferences. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with clients and designers to discuss upholstery ideas.
- Understand design requests and create upholstery stencils.
- Choose and find upholstery materials.
- Take apart furniture to prepare for upholstery work.
- Measure and cut fabric or leather using stencils.
- Add foam and batting to furniture frames.
- Install and fix furniture webbing and springs.
- Stretch and put on fabric or leather coverings.
- Sew, glue, and nail fabric into place.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Proven experience as an upholsterer.
