Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
- Perform regular maintenance on semi-trucks and trailers
- Take apart and put together vehicle engines and clean fuel tanks
- Maintain and replace hubs and axles as needed
- Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tires
- Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Test all vehicle systems and equipment for any issues
- Ensure that trailers meet the safety requirements set by the U.S. Department of Transportation

Requirements and Qualifications
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
- Associate's degree in heavy truck technology
- At least 1 year of experience as a trailer mechanic
- A valid driver's license
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle systems, such as hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and technical information
