Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Tow Truck Operator to join our towing and recovery company. You will drive one of our company trucks and help our clients with breakdowns and accidents. Your tasks will include going to the breakdown or accident site, checking the car for damage, doing small repairs if needed, and towing it to a service station or junkyard approved by our company.

To be successful as a Tow Truck Operator, you should know basic mechanics and auto electrical work, be able to communicate clearly, and have completed an advanced driving course. A great Tow Truck Operator always gives helpful and professional service to all clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive instructions from the company dispatcher.
  • Drive to the place where the car broke down or the accident happened.
  • Talk to the customer to find out what happened.
  • Check the car to see what's wrong with it.
  • Do small repairs if needed.
  • Jump-start cars, change tires, and reconnect car parts.
  • Suggest the best solution.
  • Connect the damaged car to the tow truck using a chain, winch, or steering block.
  • Tow the car to an approved service station or junkyard.
  • Report back to the company and fill out paperwork.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with car maintenance and repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of car mechanics and electrical systems.
