Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing team. As a Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for improving existing designs and creating new ones. You will also make drawings, called blueprints, of mechanical parts and provide technical support to clients. It is important for you to be able to work with other engineers and manufacturing staff.

To be successful in this role, you should have great attention to detail and be able to manage your time well. Excellent Tooling Engineers are able to meet deadlines, are very careful, and consistently produce high-quality work.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing tooling designs and use CAD or AutoCAD to make them better.
  • Create blueprints for new tooling designs based on client or project requirements.
  • Share designs with colleagues and make any necessary changes based on their feedback.
  • Create prototypes and test new designs.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on new designs.
  • Travel to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and work with manufacturing and design teams.
  • Use CAD or AutoCAD to make blueprints and designs.
  • Negotiate with vendors and contractors to get the best deals.
  • Schedule meetings with management and marketing teams when needed.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the engineering field by networking and attending events.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • A portfolio of previous work may be helpful.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Experience using CAD and AutoCAD software.
