Job Description
We need a skilled surgical technologist to help with surgeries in our facility. Your main tasks will include preparing and sterilizing the operating room, equipment, and instruments before each surgery. You will also help get the patient ready for surgery and make sure they have a positive experience.
To succeed in this role, you should have a good understanding of surgical technology and procedures. Experience with surgical instruments is preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing the sterile operating room for surgeries
- Sterilizing equipment and instruments
- Stocking enough supplies for surgery
- Getting the patient ready for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting incision sites
- Assisting during surgery by passing instruments and supplies to the doctor
- Keeping track of surgical supplies
- Staying updated on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures
- Working well with the surgeon, surgical assistant, nurses, and other members of the surgical team
- Providing excellent patient care
Requirements and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and certified surgical technologist
- Experience with surgical instruments
- Current BCLS certification
- Good understanding of surgical technology and procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passion for patient care
